Taree Anglican Parish
Welcome to Taree Anglican
We welcome all who come this way.
May we all experience hope, comfort and peace.
At Taree Anglican Parish we welcome everyone as we gather each Sunday. We come to pray, to worship God, and to break and share the bread of life. We reflect on God's love for us all. We believe this makes a difference in our lives. We trust this difference helps us make a positive contribution in our community.
The clergy of Taree Anglican Parish are listed on the Leadership Team Page. We welcome those who come for Baptism, Marriage and Funerals. We welcome all who join in Worship, or any of the activities in our Parish life.

Joy is prayer
Joy is prayer. Joy is strength. Joy is love. It’s like a thread of love that captures souls.

The Biripi Nation
We recognize and honour the Biripi Nation, the ancient people who have walked about in this place. St John's Taree is proud of our association with the Biripi and are privileged to minister with and to them.
More information can be found here. http://www.ptlalc.com.au/biripi.htm.
The Biripi Nation on the Mid North Coast, from Camden Haven in the North, to Tuncurry in the South, and westward to Gloucester and Nowendoc. It centres on the Taree area. Biripi people travelled around their country according to the seasons and food sources. With a significant amount of coastal land, the Biripi people recognise the Shark as their totem.
Aboriginal Culture
Indigenous Australians have been understanding and living in Australia for more than 40,000 years. The oldest continuing Culture known to humankind. Other civilisations have been and gone Aboriginal Culture is still here, and offers knowledge and skills from those ancient times for us. Having survived from the times of mega fauna and great land mass change they have learned and gained the living skills within the natural environment and still are here today. The Biripi are the Ancient people of this place, who listen to the land and the ancient spirits, and this land is etched deep within Biripi hearts.
We have much to learn from each other. Learning and understanding between people leads to friendship and reconciliation.
